GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Fluoride is added to drinking water, toothpastes, and mouthwashes to prevent dental caries. ROLE IN ANTI-AGING: Fluoride is necessary for formation of strong bones and teeth and may protect against osteoporosis. DEFICIENCY SYMPTOMS: None THERAPEUTIC DAILY AMOUNT: No RDA has been established.
