The City of Regina is creating a community-wide strategy to increase physical activity among residents by five per cent by 2005. Although still in its preliminary stages, the "In Motion" initiative aims to raise public awareness and education about the importance of being active, according to Janet Schultz, manager of community and social development with the city.

"We're not trying to develop a whole bunch of programs that people can be active in, although that may occur . what we're really wanting to do is get people off the couch.
