Recent study results suggest that Red clover extract, which is marketed as a natural alternative to hormone replacement therapy, offers no relief from menopausal hot flashes. Results of the 12-week-long study by Jeffrey Tice of the University of California, San Francisco, and colleagues showed that Red clover extract was no more effective at relieving hot flashes than an inactive placebo.
