From the BBC news of partial success in stem cell based regenerative therapy for blindness. The damaged parts of the eye were regrown for a man blind since early childhood. Reading between the lines, it sounds like the tissue regrowth was a complete success, but the man had not developed the necessary neural structures during childhood to make full use of the eye.

Still, this is another amazing step forward for regenerative medicine. Kudos to the researchers involved.
