AndroGel, a topical gel rubbed into the skin and delivering testosterone, hit the U.S. marketplace in June 2000. It treats the condition known as andropause -- commonly referred to as 'male menopause,' which begins with hormonal, physiological and chemical changes that occur in all men generally between the ages of 40 and 55, and reflects a slowing down of all of the body's physiological processes, as well as psychological changes such as reduced sex drive.
