Dried mango is convenient snack to have handy for whenever you may become hungry, it is also a tasty, sweet, easy way to increase overall nutrient intake.

The name is pretty much self explanatory, it is dried mango fruit from a mango tree Mangifera indica. Typically the fruit is naturally dried or it is dehydrated and sold worldwide. Dried mango has a long shelf life once all the water has been removed. Dried mango is probably one of the most popular dried fruits, but it should be eaten in moderation as dried fruits tend to be high in calories.

Dried mango contains a variety of beneficial nutrients such as vitamin A which help to regulate metabolism, iron, calcium, and vitamin C. The dried fruit contains far less nutrients than fresh, but they are still there, just in smaller amounts, during the drying process most water soluble vitamins, such as vitamin C, are greatly decreased. ⅓ cup of dried mango contains 160 calories, 30 grams of sugar, and 2 grams of fiber. They are sugar dense so it is wise to consume in moderation.

Even in small servings they still pack some important health benefits such as better skin appearance, increased circulation, regulated digestion, optimized heart health, and weight loss among many others.

Active ingredients and antioxidants help to soothe inflammation on the skin, promote regrowth and minimize appearance of age spots, wrinkles, and blemishes. Consuming in moderation of the nutrient rich fruit can help improve elasticity of the skin giving a more youthful appearance.

Removing water content from the mangos does make them less filling, but they are still a rich source of dietary fiber and concentrated source of carbohydrates helping to sate appetite and avoid snacking and overeating, assisting in weight loss. They are high in calories, so always enjoy in moderation.

Dried mango contains dietary fibre which can help to stimulate peristaltic motion and alleviate symptoms of diarrhea and constipation, while balancing bacteria levels within the gut aiding in digestion.

Assorted vitamins and mineral found with the dired goodies can help to boost bone mineral density and help to lower the risks of developing osteoporosis with age, another reason to enjoy in moderation.

Vitamin C has been shown to play an important role in protection of blood vessels and arteries in the body. Strengthening  and ensuring integrity of cell walls is boosted by vitamin C, mangos, even dried mangos contain a great deal of vitamin C which aids in protecting heart health.

Dried mango contains a decent amount of beta carotene, which is an antioxidant that is well known to help improve vision by decreasing macular degeneration and slow the onset of cataracts.

There are moderate levels of iron in the dried fruit which can help soothe symptoms of anemia and help to boost overall circulation.
