Damaged Nerve Cells Coaxed to Regrow and Re-establish Connections

Canadian researchers advance a biotech solution for neuronal repair.

A team of researchers from the Montreal NeurologicaI Institute and Hospital (Canada) and McGill University (Canada) is the first to demonstrate the utility of an artificial component, plastic beads coated with a substance that encourages adhesion, in promoting nerve cells to regrow and re-establish connections (synapses).
