In the process the scientists agreed that, in order to do such repairs in humans, it will require stem cells with DNA the same as the recipient's and full telomere length; in essence NT-SCs (derived from nuclear transfer protocols, as we have been pursuing since 6 years now at HK Stem Cell Research), and as presented by myself at the Spring 2012 A4M congress in Orlando. The full paper will be included in the next A4M text book “Anti-Aging Therapeutics.”

Question from a reader: Aren't iPS the preferred choice of stem cells?
Answer: NO! Please check - at STEM CELLS - “iPS less and less effective as choice of stem cells” (risks of tumors, cancer, genetic aberrations, rejection).
Question: So, why is the pharmaceutical industry apparently so hot about pursuing iPS research?
Answer (requires a little dirty thinking/interpretation): Because every year they can point at “interesting research results” (I agree), and then comes their explanatory statement: “More research is required, and in the next two to three years research will give us more answers.” and - unspoken - “in the meantime we'll be happy to sell you our overpriced, mostly ineffective in curing diseases, often poisonous, drugs.” A cycle that, with iPS, will never end.
But - question - what would be the result if NT-SCs (already proven possible, even with the use of animal egg cells for nuclear transfer) became available today?
Answer: 90+% percent of pharmaceutical drugs would become out-dated overnight!
Wow!!! Apply real science to cure people's ills? What a magnificent concept!
