An online poll of UK Internet users has found that worries about the economy has led to a significant rise in sleep problems.

Nearly half of the 1,000 survey respondents said that their sleep quality was worse now than a year ago. 20% said that they regularly sleep for 5 or less hours each night, whilst 25% reported waking up more than three times each night. 10% said that they lay in bed for two hours or more before they finally managed to fall asleep.

The vast majority of respondents blamed money and work worries for their sleep problems.
