Bernando LaPallo from East Valley, Arizona turned 114 on August 13, 2015, he attributes his long life to maintaining a simple lifestyle and dietary protocols that helped him to reach supercentenarian longevity warrior status while still feeling very well.

LaPallo claims to have never been sick a day in his life, and accredits this to his diet consisting of all organic produce, walking every morning, and avoiding red meat as well as fried and fast foods at all costs; his father cautioned him at a young age to stay away from these and he has always believed this to be best for good health.

LaPallo’s five foods that he eats to stay healthy and age well are garlic, cinnamon, olive oil, honey, and chocolate which are in addition to the organic fruits and vegetables that he attributes his successful healthy long life to.

Garlic has been shown in many studies to be a powerful immunity enhancer, liver detoxifier, and cancer fighter. Cinnamon has anti-aging properties, boosts immunity, helps blood sugar levels, and boost overall health in general. Olive oil is a powerful anti-inflammatory as well as being a source of Vitamin E, high levels of cancer fighting properties, and healthy monounsaturated fats. Honey is known to have anti-inflammatory, heart healthy, and anti-aging beneficial properties. Dark chocolate is a source of anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, and immune boosting properties, as well as being tasty which may be why it has been in the diet of several such longevity warriors.

LaPallo also enjoys whole grains, broths, as well as healthy soups and salads. He is the author of a few books and a website (Age Less Live More) which he has revealed several of his secrets, recipes, and tips to living a long and healthy life as he has.

His father also lived a long life reaching 98 years old, LaPallo took his father's advice to heart on how to eat and live well. LaPallo enjoys reading, crossword puzzles, as well as other life enhancing activities every day as he has learned and seen so much throughout his long life, and he always wanted to live a healthy lifestyle so he could age well.

Bernando LaPallo, an inspiring supercentenarian longevity warrior, died at the age of 114 on December 19, 2015 quickly and without chronic illness, but not before trying his best to share his passionate message of living a healthy lifestyle to extend healthspan and promote longevity.

LaPallo has been quoted saying, “As the old saying goes, you are what you eat. And that’s very true.” LaPallo had the catchphrase of “Keep your liver and colon clean” which he also considered to be crucial for a healthy life.

During his lifetime LaPallo trained in the culinary arts, obtained accreditations in massage therapy, reflexology, herbology, as well as podiatry; and he became an author and lecturer. About 1 in 1000 centenarians make it past being 110 according to Supercentenarians, there are only a few hundred in the world and among those only a few dozen have been officially verified. Lapallo was recognized as the oldest living Brazilian in the State of Arizona, which was noted to be older than the state itself, and he did it happy healthily with flare. What an inspirational man.
